Azerbaijani citizenship for 0.7 hectares

A resident of the Dondar village of Tovuz region Fatima Mamedova said at a press conference in Media Center that she refuses Azerbaijani citizenship to protest against a violation of property rights and arbitrariness of officials and judiciary, Turan agency informs.

According to F. Mamedova, in 2009 she bought through an auction 0,7 hectares of land from rural lands of the State Fund and she paid 2400 manats for it, while a state fee was 425 manat.

However, a head of the village municipality in 2009 leaving his post had falsified documents and had deprived of F. Mamedova a legitimate right on the  land. He sold her land to her neighbor Mair Jafarov who had already had 0.8 hectares.

Attempts of women to restore her rights in the courts were in vain. Tovuz region court dismissed her claim, and Ganja Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan upheld the decision in force.
