On the basis of operational information, the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime conducted a special operation. As a result, when attempting to sell fake banknotes of 6,500 manat for 2000 manats, have been detained a resident of Baku, previously convicted Ibrahim Gurbanov and Ulvi Vagabzadeh, a resident of Bilasuvar district, haqqin.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In course of searching the apartment where they lived, there were found and seized special equipment for making counterfeit notes and other material evidences.
During the questioning, they noted that in order to make the notes not different from the real ones, they used unlicensed special hacking programs. With these programs I. Gurbanov and U. Vahabzadeh printed on counterfeit banknotes security signs and sketches.
Criminal case has been opened by the Investigation branch of the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime and an investigation is under way.
