According to ANN.az, the Baku Court of Grave Crimes chaired by Judge Eynulla Veliyev passed a decision in the criminal case of Bayram Mammadov, accused of possession and selling drugs on a large scale.
In the process made a speech Mammadov’s lawyer Elchin Sadykhov, who stated on innocence his client and asked the court to justify him.
Then made a final statement the accused, which had not confessed his guilt and stated that he had arrested for graffiti, drugs had been planted him.
According to the verdict, Mammadov sentenced to 10 years in colony of general regime. In addition court made a decision that Mammadov must pay 73 manats to state treasury that were spent to expert examination conducted during investigation.
After process Elchin Sadykhov said to journalists that defence would intend to appeal against the court decision.
Amnesty International included Bayram Mammadov in the list of “prisoners of conscience”.
