In Azerbaijan in 2016 with employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, State Customs Committee, Service of State Security, State Border Service and Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice were seized from illegal trafficking more than 2 tons and 150 kg of various kinds of drug substances including it were destroyed 21,532 bushes of cannabis.
According to APA, this was reflected in the “Report around country in area of control over drug trafficking in Azerbaijan Republic in 2016” that was prepared by the working group of the State Commission on Combat to drug and illegal drug trafficking.
From confiscated drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors more than 654 kg were marihuana, 225 kg – opium, 1.186 ton – heroin, 42 kg –hashish, 24 kg – psychotropic substances 11 976 pills, 21,532 bushes of hemp.
Last year laü enforcement bodies detected 3,411 facts of breach of the law in area of combat to drug trafficking.
