In Baku, a man encountered fraud on social networks, oxu.az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the information, the citizen met the woman on a dating app. The interlocutor invited him to go to the cinema and sent him a link so that he could buy tickets to the show. The man, following the link provided to him, entered his bank card details. As a result, the woman stole 1,750 manats from him.

“In this regard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs once again appeals to citizens and urges them to keep their card details secret and not trust anyone. If you encounter a similar situation, immediately report it to the police,” the message says.

The Baku Court of Appeal has considered a complaint against the court decision to arrest the founder of Toplum TV, Alesker Mammadli, oxu.az reports. At the meeting, the defense petitioned to change the measure of restraint in the form of arrest against the accused media expert.

The court did not consider the complaint to be justified. The decision of the trial court was upheld. A. Mammadli is accused of smuggling.

The Lankaran Grave Crimes Court has completed the trial of the criminal case of Murad Zamanov, accused of murdering his wife in the Salyan region, oxu.az reports. At the meeting chaired by Judge Javid Safarli, the judgement was read out, according to which M. Zamanov was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 9 years.

The crime was committed on the night of September 20, 2023 in the city of Salyan. Local resident Murad Zamanov (born 1965) strangled his wife Nazilya (born 1976) with a rope.

Based on this fact, a criminal case was opened at the Salyan district prosecutor’s office. The accused stated in his testimony that he killed his wife for adultery.

As part of the measures to combat transnational organized crime and illegal migration carried out by the State Security Service (SSS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, information was received that a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Ullan Naeem Khan Navvab and others are engaged in kidnappings in the territory of our country, oxu .az reports with reference to the State Security Service.

Thus, as a result of measures taken by employees of the Nasimi district police station based on requests received from citizens, Khijran Sheikhov (born 1963), suspected of fraud, was detained. It was established that, taking advantage of the trust of a number of people, he embezzled their money on a large scale in exchange for false promises of assistance in finding employment in various government agencies.

The court took a preventive measure against Kh. Sheikhov in the form of detention.
